Minimalist with daily stoic

” . . . freedom isn’t secured by filling up on your heart’s desire but by removing your desire.” – Epictetus, Discourses, 4.1.175

My husband mistaken I taught my child to be materialistic. We have to differentiate what we want verses what we already have. We have some money but that doesn’t mean I can just leave them there to rot.

My point is what I already have can be use for a better purpose. If I can use it to grow to enjoy a cup of coffee more, why not. If I can use it to exchange joy or help others why not.

Freedom is obtain not wanting more but to appreciate what you already have. Money is never enough. Our folks want bonus, promotion and more money.

Compare yourself to others, it’s never enough. How to stop chasing and start living?
